J. Conner Niceley
Associate AttorneyConner Niceley is an associate attorney at Garmer & Prather, PLLC, where he uses his passion for the law as an integral part of the firm’s pursuit of serving others and seeking justice for its clients.
Conner graduated magna cum laude from the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law in 2021. While at UK, he served as Chair of the College of Law’s Honor Council and was a Production Editor for the Kentucky Law Journal. His Note, I’d Be Better Off in a Pine Box: Analyzing Kentucky’s Funeral Planning Declaration Act as a Model for Uniform Legislation, 109 KY. L.J. 185 (2021), was the recipient of the Colvin P. Rouse Award for Excellence in Legal Scholarship. He was also awarded Best Appellate Brief for the Rutledge Club, and earned CALI awards for the highest grade in Legal Research & Writing, the Business of Law Seminar, and Crime and Punishment: Sentencing Policy and Procedure.
Conner completed his undergraduate studies at Eastern Kentucky University. He graduated summa cum laude in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and was a member of the university’s Honors Program. While at Eastern, he served as Chief Justice of the Student Court and was elected to the honor societies of Phi Kappa Phi and Pi Sigma Alpha.
Conner is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association, the Kentucky Justice Association, and the Fayette County Bar Association.
A native of Berea, Conner and his wife now reside in Richmond. They are members of Southland Christian Church and attend the Richmond campus. He has also worked as a facilitator in an online section of the Legal and Ethical Environments of Business course at Eastern Kentucky University and has volunteered as a judge for the Kentucky High School Mock Trial Tournament. He has been with Garmer & Prather since he began as a law clerk in May 2019.
